On the 31st of October I met with Peter Smith in the Atrium to conduct the first pre interview with him. I took notes on my Macbook as I asked him questions and effectively ran through what would end up being the content used on the episode.
The only negative that I got from this exercise is that my note taking ability wasn’t quite up to par(as can be seen on the document below) as I had to listen carefully while trying to also take notes. This meant that when I was writing questions a lot had to be done from memory rather than having something to reference.
Overall I found this interview a really useful tool in for figuring out what would be good to ask on the show and in securing my own knowledge which I could then pass onto Dave. This also proved invaluable in creating a relationship with Peter by filling him in on the theme of the show and being able to ask if there are any questions he would like to avoid.
